In My 11th Year

Have you ever been in a relationship that you just couldn't get out of? Well, I have...I am! I don't want to be here, but he snuck up on me like a thief in the night. Silly me, I thought I could handle it, but now as I look back over the past eleven years, it seems that he is handling me. I have gone to the authorities...some said there was nothing that they could do. Some gave me false hope which was even worse. No one seems to know how to get me out of this relationship. Since I have been with Mr. Wrong I have learned that there are thousands of people all over the world, male and female, who are stuck in similar relationships with no way out.

Well, as bad as this sounds, I did also discover an organization that is dedicated to finding a way to free all of us from this culprit. They do not offer false hope. They have been at it for years and will not give up, and while they are searching for the way they do everything in their power to help us to deal with the drama that our unwanted partners put us through.

That unwanted partner is Multiple Sclerosis, and to many he is known as 'MS.' The organization that is taking on our fight is The National MS Society.

I will not celebrate an eleven year anniversary in a relationship that I don't want. This year I will celebrate my twelfth year participating in the MS Walk...a relationship that will help to find a cure for MS.
